Introduction: What is
affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a
process where you promote someone else's product or service in exchange for a
commission on the sales that you generate. It's a great way to make extra
income, and there are a lot of different ways to go about it. In this article, we'll
discuss the basics of affiliate marketing, including how it works, what you
need to get started, and some of the best affiliate programs and networks out
there.
If you're seriously
interested in making a full-time income with Affiliate Marketing, it's hard to
imagine a better way to earn money than selling something you love. And the
good news is that once you get started with affiliate marketing, your earning
potential can be huge. You can start earning money right away by working with
just a few products. The best products are Evergreen products that will give
you monthly commissions because your buyers are on a subscription or monthly
service charge.
How does affiliate
marketing work?
Affiliate marketing is a
process by which a company rewards its partners for each customer or sale
brought to the business by the partner’s marketing efforts. Affiliate marketing
programs can be found on the web and are easy to join. In most cases, all that
is required is to complete a simple application or signup process. Joining an
affiliate program is Free!
The BEST way to do
Affiliate Marketing is to create an email mailing list and then email that list
4-6 times per week (*more on this later). You can also use Twitter, Facebook
and other social media sites to help promote your affiliate offers (*more on
this later).
What
are some of the benefits of affiliate marketing?
One
of the main benefits of affiliate marketing is the low startup cost. You can
get the primary tools you need to do a great job of affiliate marketing for
under $500. What other business can you do that with? There are even ways to
get started for Free, but they are a bit slow and require more work. But if you
are on a zero budget, it can be done!
Affiliate
marketing has unlimited earning potential. The better you get at it, the more
you make. The longer you are in the affiliate marketing business, the more you
make. The larger your email list gets, the more you make. The more you build
your social media accounts, the more you make. Affiliate marketing will
ultimately lead you to multiple streams of income (ie. social media accounts,
email list, Partnerships, product launches, endorsement income, etc.). This is
why it is so important to stick with affiliate marketing, even if you are not
making a huge amount of money at first. Just keep the faith, and it will grow
overtime. If you are working it full time, with a decent amount of effort, it
is very possible for you to double your income year after year after year.
Affiliate
marketing gives you a lifestyle of freedom. You can work as many or as few
hours as you want. You are your own boss. You set your own hours. You determine
how large your own paycheck is. You can give yourself raises. You can make
money while you sleep. Are you getting the general idea that affiliate
marketing is a great way to live? Good!
I
personally like the fact that affiliate marketing, the way I do it, allows me
to help a lot of people. I give them the tools, training and support they need
to be even more successful than I am. I dramatically cut down their learning
curve, costs and frustrations. At the same time, I help them to dramatically
increase their earnings. That sounds like a good friend to me! Think of your
job as an affiliate marketer not as selling, but as being a teacher, a mentor
and a good friend to the people that are ultimately going to buy from you,
because you provided such massive value to them. They need the tools and
services you're going to recommend, and it costs them nothing to buy them through
your affiliate link. Yet at the same time, you are providing them with massive
value and education that would typically cost them thousands of dollars. This
is a great win-win situation for everyone! What a wonderful way to live, making
your entire paycheck by helping others.
How do I get started with
affiliate marketing?
Getting started is
actually amazingly simple and easy. Let me walk you through a few techniques to
get you started. NOTE: The first step in both strategies is to get
approved to market the affiliate products. So I recommend you start by signing
up for Free accounts with the following affiliate marketing programs 1) JVZoo 2) WarriorPlus 3) ClickBank 4) DigiStore24 (*There are many more,
but this will get you started.)
Strategy #1:
Simply find a product you
would like to sell on one of the sites I mentioned above and request an
affiliate link. Then go to the sales page and the JV page and grab the information
there. Then create a YouTube video describing and
selling the product in post it to your YouTube site (*You can show your face or

create a blog post based on this information and post it to your blog or any of
the article publishing sites on the web (Example – Medium or Blogger). The best method is
to do both. I regularly create articles which then become the framework
(the script or outline) for my YouTube video. This is a wonderful, and
synergistic way, to make more sales online.
People will see your video
or blog article, and you will begin to see clicks to the affiliate site and
sales in your affiliate dashboard. These articles and videos become your 24/7
365 salesman working for you relentlessly throughout the year. You will be
surprised how long after you create these videos and articles that you see
sales come in. It's not uncommon to see additional sales still coming in a year
or so later.
Strategy #2:
Discover
the power of email list building and marketing. This is my favorite strategy,
because it gets me long term income that grows and grows overtime. Many of the
gurus overcomplicate this simple system. Here's what you do:
1)
Create or purchase a “Bribe” you can offer people to join your email list. The
classic bribes (gifts) are simple ebooks or trainings. (* If you are new to
affiliate marketing, I highly recommend you simply purchase these items. They
only cost a few dollars and this will save you dozens of hours of hard labor).
2)
Get an email marketing account. I highly recommend GetResponse, because that is the system that I use,
and it has everything you need to work this system without having to buy, learn
or pay for additional programs. GetResponse already comes with email lead
generation templates ready to go. They also have more sophisticated sales
funnels, when you are ready for that later. (*GetResponse even starts you out
with a FREE plan. How cool is that?)
3)
Follow the simple GetResponse video trainings to set up a lead generation
funnel. Then simply post your link to this gift all over the web, everywhere
that you can think of. So post it on your social media sites (Twitter,
LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), Facebook groups, put it inside of small articles and
post it to article directories, etc., etc. Get creative and have fun posting it
as many places as you can think of. It should be easy to get people to click on
your link, because you are basically giving away free gifts that are very
valuable, that is a very easy “sale” to make. Doing this will rapidly build
your email list. (* This is another area where you will see the benefits of posting
within a few short days, but then you will get a trickle of leads coming in
over time for several years after. Nice!)
4) Be sure to separate out your email lists into categories, based
on the lead generation item people grabbed. So if a person grabbed a fitness
ebook, put them in a category called “Health and Fitness”. If they grabbed a
marketing ebook, put him in a category called “Business and Marketing.” This
way you send the right offer to the right people that will definitely be
interested in what you have to sell.
5) This is the fun part! And most affiliate products that you sell
already come with what they call “email swipes.” These are emails that you can
shoot out that are already designed to sell at high levels, and you didn't even
have to do any of the work to create them. You simply copy and paste these into
your email system and blast them to your list. Classically you would do this as
an email series, so that you will be sending 5 to 10 emails to them over the
course of a week or two. The longer the email series, the more likely it is a
customer will buy. You can set up an email series like this in just a few
minutes, and then spend the next week or two just watching the money flow into
your account. Nice!
NOTE: For people starting out, this may sound a bit
complicated, but it really isn't. GetResponse makes it super easy by giving you step by step
video tutorials and you can also contact their support department if you need
additional help. But they have literally set things up so that a 12 year old of
average intelligence could easily set up this system and do their first blast
within an hour or so. Once you do this two or three times, it will seem fast,
simple and easy for you. You will be almost ashamed that you are doing such
simple and easy work for the amount of money you are making. But always remember,
just because you're not working that hard, doesn't mean that you're not
providing massive value. You certainly are, and you deserve every penny you make!
PRO TIP! Always add
BONUSES to 5-10X your Sales!
Here's a super important
tip that I wish I knew from day one. The reason why the “super-affiliates”
are making so many more sales than you, is that they offer a bunch of bonuses.
Adding bonuses can get you 5 to 10 times as many sales, and there is a
secret but easy way to add these bonuses that is fast, simple and easy. I will
share this system with you now, it is the same one that I use. It is called
"Commission
Gorilla." This simple cloud based software is super cheap and they
will even start you out with several bonuses to get you up and running. For a
small amount more, you can get a bunch of additional done-for-you bonuses to
make even more sales. Commission Gorilla will not only give you
these bonuses they will automatically deliver them to your clients. This is a
huge service! It will totally make you look like a Pro and dramatically
increase your sales! I once tried creating my own bonus page and delivery
system, it was a nightmare! When I found Commission Gorilla, I was able to complete the
same process in minutes instead of days, and it looked 10 times better.
The reason bonuses work so well
is that they add a lot more VALUE to the offer. Some customers will actually
purchase the offer, even if they don't want it, just to get the valuable
bonuses you are offering. As noted before, 5 to 10 times as many people will
purchase your offer because they really want to get the bonuses you have
offered. These extra bonuses add so much value, it makes it a no brainer for
them to say "Yes" and push the "Buy Now" button. This
technique of adding bonuses is so powerful, I would go so far as to say that I
would not attempt to do affiliate marketing without this system.

There! Now you have a
simple system to do affiliate marketing! I've been a teacher for many decades,
so my goal is always to make things fast, simple and easy for you. While I
can't promise you a certain income, I feel very confident that if you follow
these systems you will have massive success. You just have to stick with it and
allow your affiliate marketing income to grow over time. Don't quit before the
